Secured Component Verification is an add-on offering to customers that will create a trust-anchored Platform Certificate in the factory and enable the customer to validate an exact match for the equipment they receive. By leveraging this chain of trust, SCV provides a method to detect unauthorized modifications between Dell and the customer. During the manufacturing process the hardware configuration will be captured as named value pairs consistent with the TCG Platform Certificate specifications. This certificate is signed in the Dell factory and stored in iDRAC or in OpenManage Enterprise-Modular (for MX) in an immutable form for the SCV application to query. The factory or field will persist through reset operations like LCWIPE, SystemErase. Version 1.0 supports direct-ship customers, and from the existing inventory collection, Version 1.X supports PCIe component inventory and replacement of RACADM calls with Rest API calls. Version 1.X will also support both in-band and out-of-band inventory collection methods using RestAPI for iDRAC / MX.
